We landed in Hamburg and stuffed our faces with goodies from a German bakery, next we found a killer music store next to an entire street of of strip clubs so that Jason the guitarist/producer could pick up a fancy guitar loop pedal by Boss. It is a beautiful day and everything is smooth from the airport to luggage and tour car pick up. There was no border driving into Denmark though there were some new letters in their alphabet showing up on road signs and there were large gas stations announcing "money exchange here". The "road trip" has begun. Viborg is cute and sweet and alive, though we get there in the dark. The morning comes early like the roosters and birds chirping outside. At that moment it doesn't feel like jet-lag, it feels like Christmas morning. Later in the afternoon is when the time change knocks you out. The concert is smooth and there are flowers on stage. Anja (see photo) makes us home made bread and it some how feels like we are family (home cooked meal!). Monitor sound was perfect! Warm and big. I forget one guitar cable & I'm not sure if it's worth hunting it down. I better be more thorough. The Danish don't have the word "please" in their language, we laughed. "Hi" is hello and "hi hi "is goodbye.Picked up lots of 9 volt batteries. Found internet at the library. Drank our first Danish beer: Tuborg! 500 DKK is about 100 Canadian. Most things cost more here than in Canada, though beer seems about the same. Gas is another 50 cents per liter more!
Ahhh yes....Viborg. There were alot firts here. My first Danish beer, my first Danish gig, my first improv using the new pedal.
Good times:)
