We purposefully detoured to find the exquisitely spectacular Egeskov castle. First built in 1554 and still surrounded by water and draw bridges, the garden and castle are enormous and fairytale like at the same time. A ‘left open’ Do-not-enter gate had us eagerly and cautiously sneak closer. Tourist visits do not start until the end of April!! Oh this little detour was fantastic! The Svendborg venue has a good history of international artists coming through but you wouldn’t expect it from its tiny small town restaurant/pub style. Our smallest room on tour! It was packed all the same. Our hotel overlooked an inlet from the ocean. Aaah.
