Thank you! I have taken in every friendly greeting to recharge me. After the days of 'charmed existence' and chaos had simmered, I had moments to reflect on the out pour of kindness on the tour. Thank you for sharing your life and time with me. If you helped along the way or we had a laugh together, you've given me what feels like a hug that lasts a life time!
Thank you for your stories. BJ! (www.bjpercussion.de) I wish I had video-taped our visit! It was like a primetime uncensored live look into the behind the scenes lifestyle of a drummers life with Cirque du Soliel!
To view the world through another's eyes and ears is virtually impossible, though reaching for it makes me feel connected and often deeply sentimental.
From Krefeld, DE to Stuttgart, DE to Dresden, DE. We took it all on! From concert halls, to live music clubs, to music stores to Kultur Houses. From keyboardists to percussionists to bass players. Our third wheel is now bassist: Frank Staudacher. Schanz, in Mühlheim am Main, DE is the coolest venue this week. There's something kind of Moulin Rouge about it.
It's late October and 12℃. I was amazed that our last week on tour in Europe has arrived and that my voice and spirit are still strong. Well, that was until we got to Metzingen, DE... a cough took ahold of me. The slamming of my vocal chords that ensued combined with Wilma's hotel-who didn't find the need for heat quite yet- took me down. Concert #44: toughest concert on the tour. It was sold out and I had a tiny percentage possible of being able to sing. We changed some keys (David Sinclair's skills never cease to amaze me) and we had beautiful stellar opening act. (Austrian songbird: Catalaya Fay link). I took the greatest care to sing softly - on those notes that were possible.
A little prayer, a long sleep and a stroll through beautiful Essligen, DE gave me the power I needed for our last show in Die Halle. The vibrant and luminous band included: Thomas Fuchs, Frank Staudacher, David Sinclair and for one night only: my Bose vocal harmonizer. On stage I shared 'Hippie' moments and when we all sang together, everything in the world seemed harmonious.
Early flights are like an emergency drill. Testing all engines and nerves...in the body and the brain. Don't panic. Ack! Almost missed it. Good thing that Dresden airport is small. Maybe it was a sign to stay a little longer? Instead, I will be back soon. Xox
Thank you my Elephant Ears Entertainment crew! Your family attitude, big ears, tireless enthusiasm and hard work evened out and lifted this bumpy tour. Thank you too, to my booking agent Kevin Kennedy, Andy at AER whose amplifiers we never hope to live without, and my webmaster Rob Chernenko who is posting this right now:)
