Goodbye for now sweet Denmark!
On Saturday night in Bordersholm, we were amongst fans and friends and it was a thrill to play with three of my favourite musicians (a real four piece, no drums) because it's the first time this combo has been able to come together, and...for one night only. Allan, the producer of my record, plays all instruments so tonight he moved from his more common bass player position to the piano. I felt like I was inside of a freshly formed rainbow somehow, until my Taylor guitar stopped working!! Though immediate help flowed to the stage...it was hard not to feel flustered by it. Eventually reaching into the guitar and switching pickups seemed to do the trick. Special thanks to Renato for the gifts he brought, including himself! Strange that the newspaper had advertised a country music concert...my Mama would say, "Don't worry about things you can do nothing about :)." Well, a day off in Kiel with the kindest friends - the Pries family. The day included: walks along the beach at nearby Laboe, the best wines, checking every piece of gear, playtime with all ages, checking out future options for a Kiel venue, and picking up a shisha sweater...designed in Kiel.
The Monday night hospital show in Skt Peter Ording was simply gorgeous and beyond any expectation. Also squeezed in a bike rIde along the beach. Breathtaking. I was a good tired when I got back to the hotel. But with one eye open had to listen and deal with some difficult things going on back home. It seems with this pace of touring, that adding anything more to the plate, so to speak, is too much. Again I think about how my Mama would describe this, I've hit a wall feeling...she might accurately say, "I feel like a sac of potatoes."
And now early morning has come way too soon.
